What to Expect at Our First Open House
Project UpdatesThe Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA), owner of Reno-Stead Airport (RTS), has begun the airport master planning process to help determine the future of RTS. Over the two-year project timeline, the RTAA will provide several opportunities for public participation, including a series of public open houses, pop-up events, and RTAA board meetings, that will allow the community to review the airport master plan as it progresses and provide feedback.
The RTAA will host its first open house on June 23, 2026, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. PDT. The event will be held at the Reno-Stead Airport Terminal, located at 4895 Texas Ave., Reno, Nev. The open house is an opportunity for residents to hear from subject-matter experts about the master plan process, what the team has already accomplished, and what will happen next. Specifically at this first open house, there will be a presentation on the airport’s existing conditions (“what we have”), the aviation forecast (“what demand we expect”), and the facility requirements (“how to meet that demand”). This data will be synthesized into potential alternatives for the airport. These alternatives—different paths forward for the airport over the next two decades—will be examined at the second public open house.
Doors to the June open house open at 5:30 and the presentation will begin at 6:00. Afterward, attendees are encouraged to examine the presentation boards around the room and speak directly to subject-matter experts who can answer questions about the project.
Attendees are also invited to provide written feedback about the airport master plan, either on paper at the meeting or online at the project’s Provide Input page.
After the open house, a presentation recording will be available on the project website. Project documents, including draft chapters of the airport master plan and event materials, are always available in the project’s document library.
We hope to see you there!
